2014 Tournament Date Set for Saturday April 5th


The 4th Annual James Herndon Memorial Turkey Invitational will be held on Saturday April 5th, 2014.


The James Herndon Memorial Turkey Invitational, an annual hunting event that is dedicated to raising awareness of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease or ALS, a devastating disease of the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement.

Schedule of Events:
March 24th - T-Shirt Orders Due
April 4th - Entry Deadline
April 5th - Tournament Day: Legal Hunting Hours - Weigh in 12pm - 1:30pm. Cookout Following Weigh-in.


Location: Weigh in at Herndon's Farm in Kingstree S.C. 195 Old Taylor Road 

Prizes:  Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. (Prize to be determined)
1st place winner receives the full body mount of the 1st place bird + a prize.  
2nd and 3rd place will receive fan mounts + a prize.   

Entry Fee: $125 per team.  This is a 2 man team event, but if you can’t find a partner or would rather hunt by yourself you may do so. This is to make sure everyone that wants to hunt will be able to. (Please make check payable to cash). 
A portion of the entry fees will be used for 1st – 3rd place prizes.  The rest will be donated to the ALS SC Chapter. There will also be a live raffle at the weigh-in.

Rules:
1. All hunters must obey SC Hunting Laws
2. Each team may weigh in two birds, however only the best bird will be counted
3. All birds will be weighed and measured by a weigh master. All measurements by the weighmaster will stand.
4. Hunting Times: First Gobble will scales close 1:30pm.
5. Teams may hunt anywhere in SC but must be able to make weigh in by 130pm
6. No two teams can work together(other than hunting the same property).
7. No Protesting!
